This position reports to the Protedyne Customer Care Manager. The engineer must work well under minimal managerial direction to perform customer support activities involving installation, troubleshooting, repair, qualifications, validation services, and preventive maintenance for complex laboratory automation. May also be required to provide operator training and field upgrades as required. Manufacturing Technician is responsible for the assembling, testing and troubleshooting of complex automation equipment. Responsibilities:• Perform mechanical, electro-mechanical, and pneumatic assembly and test of prototype and production products using common hand tools, including wiring, soldering and crimping. • Installing and configuring Protedyne and third-party software and perform system bring-up on electro-mechanical devices, including de-bug and troubleshooting. • Work closely with Quality and Engineering to identify problems and obtain corrective action. • Help develop manufacturing assembly and test procedures during prototype build process.Additional duties performed are:Occasionally work with Customer Care to assist in troubleshooting field service issues.Travel to LabCorp facilities to do assembly, bring-up, and testing of automation equipmentLead other Technicians as necessary during build or bring-up.Assure that products and processes meet quality requirementsIn May 2007, Protedyne became a wholly owned subsidiary of Laboratory Corporation of America www.labcorp.com.
