Masterplan and redevelopment program for JFK airport. Responsible for cargo, in a consortium led by Mottmacdonald and Grimshaw architects. Delivery focuses on realising the JFK 2050 Vision for Cargo: a centralized cargo area, safeguarding future capacity, with state-of-the-art facilities and an future-proof operational concept.

Responsible for Cargo Development Strategy for the entire airside cargo handling operation at HKIA. The strategy addresses the impact of the new 3RS - Three Runway System, changing airline allocations, cargo routings, travel times and ensures swift connection times for transhipment handling.

Cargo Terminal Optimisation Study to increase the overall capacity and performance of the cargo operation.

Airport Masterplan Cargo. Scope of the study included the existing Changi Airfreight Centre area and new Changi East Industry Zone. Masterplan activities included extensive stakeholder engagement, market forecast, spatial development plans, Customs and Security concept and international benchmark for air cargo practices.

Project manager information exchange for the Nextlogic. Nextlogic is the chain optimisation program for inland container shipping. Scope included development of the information platform with Portbase and an extensive stakeholder group. The platform connects > 60 companies (barge and terminal operators). www.nextlogic.nl

Cargo terminal design project for Saudi Cargo. Scope included development of the design brief, operational concept incl. the Material Handling System, preliminary design and tender documents.

Air Cargo Strategy for GMR Group, who operates Delhi and Hyderabad International Airport. Strategy included market analysis and forecast, network development plan, operational excellence program and spatial development plan.

SmartGate Cargo program is a joint initiative of the Tax and Customs administration, Air Cargo Netherlands (ACN), KLM Cargo and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AAS). The SmartGate project includes the full operational concept development of an integrated one-stop government inspection (Customs, Aviation Security, Phytosanitary, Veterinary and DGR) and gate / counter process at the cargo area of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

Cargonaut is the cargo community system of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. eCargo Customs Control is a dedicated software solution for the Customs Administration of The Netherlands. It combines logistics and government information to provide a industry wide track & trace / audit trail for all cargo at Amsterdam Airport.

Feasibility study for an Air Cargo Single Window in Russia on behalf of UN/CEFACT.A Single Window concept refers to a facility that allows parties involved in trade and transport to lodge standardized information and documents with a single entry point to fulfil all import, export, and transit-related regulatory requirements. If information is electronic, then individual data elements should only be submitted once.

Project Manager, responsible for the development and realisation of an ICT-solution (NLBIT) for the road transport at DHL Global Forwarding. The solution resulted in significant annual savings on the road transport costs.

Düsseldorf Airport Cargo is the sole handling company with direct airside access. Due to capacity constraints various optimization scenarios have been developed, evaluated and adopted.

European Benchmark of Governement Inspections of Air Cargo. Benchmarked airports included AMS, BRU, LUX, FRA and LHR. Scope of inspections included Customs, Plant Health, Veterinary inspections and Dangerous Goods supervision.

Cathay Pacific Airways Cargo (CX) has its hub operation at Hong Kong International Airport. Project scope included the extensive review of the operational concept and material handling design of the new cargo terminal (world's largest with 2.6 million tons capacity and an investment of USD 720 million). Recommendations have been adopted and implemented in the final design.

EU directives on Aviation Security required implementation of a layered security zone structure at airport level for the entire cargo area (including 6 cargo terminal operators). Project scope included development of various spatial implementation scenarios and evaluation through market consultation. Proposed scenario has been adopted and succesfully implemented.

ACSA operates South-African's nine principal airports.ACSA's Cargo Strategy Project included a comprehensive market analysis & forecast, the airport logistics real-estate development plan and business development plan.

The cargo operation of Aviapartner is located in various buildings at Brussels Airport. Due to increased growth and changing airline (handling) portfolio the key question of the study was: How to ensure long-term capacity and optimize the current operation. Study results have been adopted / implemented.

Due to the merger of Excel and DHL Global Forwarding a Quick scan was performed to determine the integration of various activities and warehouse facilities at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Various scenarios have been developed, evaluated and the recommended scenario has been adopted.

National Air Cargo Strategy project for EHCAAN. Study included market forecast, network analysis and development plan, cargo village development plan and regional airport development plan.

Cargonaut is the Cargo Community System of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The Virtual Free Trade Zone project included software development and extensive stakeholder engagement of 50+ participating companies. The solution monitors all cargo movement under Customs Supervision at airport level preventing labor intense transfer declarations for cargo movements. Project resulted in an estimated annual saving of 5 million euro.

Compresensive cost analysis indicating actual cost per kg handled per commodity type. Workstream was part of the Cargo Terminal Extension programm, called ACC2 (ACC - Air Cargo Centre).
