I am a meteorologist that loves telling compelling weather stories that weave social media with weather technology, into a product that is valuable to both the audience and the station. Today’s weather story is more than just radar and a 7-day forecast. Live cameras, reports from social media, and the latest in weather technology can be combined to paint a vivid picture of how the weather is going to impact your day. Utilizing these platforms for communication creates an image that our grease pencil forefathers could only dream of.I have experience with WSI and Weather Central and I love to push the systems to their limits. Ideas for new products, graphics, and methods of conveying weather information are never in short supply. I am not afraid to report on news stories and in fact I actually enjoy it.
