CurrentThe Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust is a national charity that supports young people aged 8-24 in rebuilding their confidence after cancer. When treatment ends our work begins, because, for many young people, picking up where they left off before their diagnosis isn’t possible.Between 2005 and 2019 the number of beneficiaries grew from 25 to over 650.We expanded the age range of those supported from 8 - 17 year of age to 8 - 24 years of age.Introduced a programme to support the siblings of young people with cancer.I drove income growth from £150,000 in 2005 to over £2,100,000 in 2019. Set up a second base in Scotland to expand our services to cover the whole of the UK.Grew the Trust team from 1 to 14 employees and over 200 active volunteers across two UK bases.Introduced a programme to develop young people who had benefited from the Trust’s trips into volunteers. We now have over 50 adult volunteers who were beneficiaries of the Trust Developed a Youth Board, so that young people co-design and create the future of the Trust.Encouraged the Board to appoint a parent and young person to the Board
