Frank Lee is president of the Korea Investment Corporation’s (KIC) San Francisco office, established in 2021. He is responsible for the KIC’s investment and operation in the western area of U.S., with a primary focus on the venture capital and private equity industry. Prior to this role, he was the head of the Equity Group at KIC. In this position, Frank led global professionals to manage internal fundamental equity strategies as well as external equity strategies with about $50bn of asset under management.Before joining KIC in 2017, Frank worked as the head of the global solutions team and the head of Asia Portfolio Team at Samsung Asset Management in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Seoul, managing several global and Asian equity funds for over 10 years. Previously, he worked as a credit portfolio manager at JPMorgan Chase in U.S. before he joined Samsung Life. He also worked at Korea Investor Service, the Korean subsidiary of Moody's, as an analyst, assigning credit ratings to various corporate bonds and securitized bonds. He started his career at the Korea Long Term Credit Bank as an analyst.Frank holds a Bachelor of Art degree in Economics from Seoul National University and an MBA degree from the University of Chicago Booth. He has been a CFA charter holder since 2003.
