Profile bio

About Frank Carbone

Inventor. Aerospace Engineer. Serial entrepreneur. Father.I love inventing new solutions to old problems, and my inspiration comes from many places. Like when I was picking up my daughter from college on Christmas break and she pointed to “those cargo things” were on the top of SUVs, casually mentioning, “Dad, those boxes are dumb and ugly. You should fix that." And that’s all it took! Now, 4 patents later, with automated cargo loading systems for a variety of vehicle platforms – SUVs, vans, pickups … and more on the way – I am raising capital to make my latest inventions come to life.Solving engineering challenges has always been my passion. That's why RoboCargo is especially exciting to me because I get to positively impact the lives of everyday people performing everyday tasks. I have founded three startups, including one that placed #32 on the INC 500 list. I was awarded the prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year from the Ernst & Young Entrepreneurial Institute. I've authored numerous technical manuals for 3D modeling in aerospace applications and served on the U.S Department of Commerce District Export Council, the University of Texas College of Engineering Industry Advisory Board, and the Texas State Bar Grievance Committee. My strengths as a strong left- and right-brained thinker allow for creative and innovative ideas, while at the same time I possess strong technical, verbal, and analytical skills, and solid organizational and management experience. I’m also friendly, energetic and enthusiastic, having been raised in a large Italian family.I’ve held CEO positions at three different companies: Aerospace Engineering and Manufacturing, Industrial Research and Development, and Fractional Leasing Franchise System. I have 30 years of broad-based engineering and manufacturing experience, and 20 years of program and executive management experience interfacing with large aerospace and governmental organizations.Additionally, I have wide experience in operations and engineering management, tooling and prototyping, early-stage growth, strategic planning, technical writing, manufacturing and design engineering, product development, contract procurement and program management. I have extensive experience with CAD/CAM/CAE and a wide variety of manufacturing processes, along with quality control and ISO9000.But what really lights me up is technical innovation and new product development, especially solutions that involve automation and positively impact peoples’ lives. Which is why Robotic Cargo Solutions, or Robo Cargo as we call it, exists today.
