Junior Fellow In International Development
Engineers Without Borders' Junior Fellowship program recruits university students from across Canada to support EWB's overseas programs working to reduce poverty and promote human development. I worked with the water and sanitation team in Malawi to conduct a research program which sought to better understand the challenges that rural communities face in repairing their water wells when they experience breakdowns. Our analysis looked at various factors including social, cultural, and economic constraints, transportation issues, supply chain management and others. During my first co-op work term, I spent eight months working for the Yukon government on an isolated stretch of the Alaska highway supervising the reconstruction of the highway.
