I am particularly interested in non-economic behavioural traits such as imitation & endorsement, territoriality, and the diffusion of information through spatial & social networks.I am the Science Lead of a new MBIE research programme that will leverage existing environmental data for the RSR to undertake climate, water, soil, bioregionalisation, human movement, and data-mining analyses that will provide policy-relevant insights into the environmental pressures that face the RSR. These analyses will contribute towards a new, regional-scale, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the Ross Sea region (RSR). We will develop a spatial tool to visualise and query the data and analyses that will enable policy makers to apply the new EIA and understand and undertake steps to mitigate these pressures.

I am particularly interested in non-economic behavioural traits such as imitation & endorsement, territoriality, and the diffusion of information through spatial & social networks.I also have an interest in other geospatial modelling approaches such as environmental landscape classifications. A recent five year research project covered the feasibility, analysis, development and delivery of an environmental classification for Antarctica at regional and continent-wide scales. The final continental classification has been adopted by the Antarctic Treaty member countries within the evaluation stage of the protected area network review process and should enable a more representative protected areas network for the continent.
