The Ladies European Tour (LET) is Europe’s leading women’s professional golf tour. Over the last 35 years the tour has developed into a truly international body organising more than 25 tournaments in 19 different countries worldwide each year. Members represent more than 34 different countries and events are broadcast to more than 250 million homes in 80 countries each year.Primarily based in Kinross (Home Office) and London (LET Head Office) my job required me to work long hours, often away from home at various locations throughout Europe and the rest of the World. As Tournament Director I was responsible for the overall project management, organisation and delivery of numerous international ladies’ professional golf events throughout the year. In order to deliver successful events it is essential to create and maintain effective working relationships with tournament stakeholders (sponsors, promoters, host venues, contractors, tv, media etc) and ensure all tournaments are administered to an exacting standard, on time and within a pre-agreed budget. I am an R&A and PGA qualified referee with over 10 years experience refereeing at elite level events including the Ricoh Women’s British Open, US Women’s Open, Solheim Cup and LET / PGA Events. While onsite I was also ultimately responsible for rulings and adherence to Tour regulations. Other key responsibilities of my role included overseeing advance and onsite preparations to ensure required tour quality standards were achieved from both a golfing and marketing perspective, presentation and set up of the golf course as well as the management, supervision, on site training and evaluation of staff.
