About Fraser Patrick
I am a Guidance Manager at an awesome mainstream secondary school in North Tyneside. I’ve worked in education for over thirteen years and absolutely love it, especially the daily reward & challenge that the post I hold brings. My main focus is about creating positive outcomes for our young people as well as removing barriers to learning, promoting high expectations, rewarding brilliance and working proactively to maximise student engagement. Ultimately I want to support everyone in leaving school with the qualifications they deserve so they have a secure pathway forward to enable them to excel post 16. I work within the most amazing pastoral team. I am so lucky to have such great people around me. I take pride in continuing with my own learning and development and continue to develop through CPD. I enjoy learning new things, but most of all I love supporting our students, parents, carers & colleagues.I have a wealth of experience in education having been encouraged to step up, take opportunities & try different roles. I have recently been selected to be part of the Governing Body at George Stephenson High School as a staff governor. I am delighted to be trusted to provide my expertise and to have an insight into the strategic running of the school. I love working in fast paced environments and take pride in my assertive, clear & calm approach.Throughout my career I have established strong professional relationships with colleagues across a range of industries. Our team won a silver national teaching award for excellence in guidance.My whole organisational responsibilities for 2015/16 are; - Behaviour for Learning - Transition support- Home Learning. Previous responsibilities include:- Member of the governing bodyI have had a strategic overview and contributed to the development of the schools strategy of quality assurance. This has directly impacted on the success of our students and Teaching and Learning Team. - House System Lead I have led the development of the school house system. I have line managed a group of staff and sixth form heads of house. I have assisted with instilling the school ethos and used the house system as a motivational tool to promote positive behaviours, raise student engagement and reward whilst recognising students for their academic and personal achievements. - Fundraising and Environmental Lead This work has seen students develop their confidence, self-esteem and aspirations allowing them to develop skills that help them inside and beyond the classroom.
