Computer Science Teacher with experience of teaching computer science in a secondary school context KS3-KS5. I am interested in maker projects and using computer science to inspire outside the classroom.I graduated from Newcastle University in July 2014 with a first-class honours degree in Computing Science (BSc).For my BSc dissertation I focused on computer vision, and contributed towards two research projects currently being undertaken at Newcastle University. One of which is looking at White-beaked Dolphins off the Northumberland coast, and from video footage attempting to automatically identify individual Dolphins. The other is using computer vision to identify preyer reflex (ear flick) in Guinea Pigs to further research on tinnitus. These projects have been both rewarding and interesting, however my primary interest lies in games development. I have created my own game engine in C++ and with this engine created a side scrolling shooter, I am also planning on making a platform game with the same engine. Another project I am working on is an iPhone game in Objective C using xCode, I am currently adding additional content to this game and hoping to publish it to the Apple App Store. I also have experience of html and css, Java, C#, SQL, and PHP. Most recently I have undertaken an internship with Waterstons, a software consultancy based in Durham, and completed a research scholarship with Newcastle Universities school of computer science. My goal is to attain employment within the industry as a programmer.Below are some screenshots of recent games I have created, shown are PC, iPhone, and Android games.
