This position co-ordinated the operation of the high cost research equipment within the schools of Environmental Science and Environmental Engineering. This included the maintenance, troubleshooting and training postgraduates/researchers in the use of the instrumentation. Providing expert advice to postgraduates and researchers on methodologies and troubleshooting problems with their research methods.

Working as a Senior Research Assistant within the Faculty of Environmental Science at Griffith University, I was the principal researcher investigating the permeation of solvents through industrial protective gloves. This project involved the design and construction, including software, of a computer controlled instrument capable of analysing up to eight glove samples simultaneously .The testing/trailing of the instrument, method development for the test protocols required and testing against standard methods. Laboratory testing numerous glove sample, then the investigation of workplace usages of gloves and the comparative testing between new and used gloves. This project is sponsored by Worksafe Australia and was a one year contract.
