Freelance IT Project Manager and Business Analyst with strong technical skills

I managed the implementation of Total Repairs and Total Mobile for Genesis Property Management Services. I was initially recruited as the Technical Lead but was asked to take on Project Management as well. When I joined the software had already been acquired and I was responsible for implementing it for 20,000 of Genesis' 30,000 properties. My duties involved liaising with all levels of Genesis staff from the property director, who was the project sponsor, to the day to day users of the system. I broke the project into two phases to allow early implementation. The system went live in October 2014 and this was followed by stabilisation and implementation of enhancements. The project was challenging as there was a lot of restructuring and all key stakeholders changed during the project. On the technical side my duties included system configuration of Total Repairs and the creation of SQL scripts to produce management data and occasionally fix data issues. I built a series of MS SQL Server views that were used to drive a Qlikview reporting dashboard. I was also responsible for the implementation and configuration of the interfaces from Total Repairs to Northgate and Agresso.The project was managed using the Genesis’ customised version of PRINCE2 and involved using the Project in a Box toolset for project management and reporting.

Create and deliver a clear vision of the application architecture and portfolio to support Midland Heart's strategic objectives. * Managed a project to implement an organisation wide CRM system (utilising Lagan from Kana) for use by all customer facing staff in the organisation.* Managed a mobile working project that saw the deployment of 65 tablet devices to field based staff in.* Evaluated, procured and successfully implemented repair management systems (Total Repairs, Total Mobile and Opti-Time) for a newly created internal maintenance team. The project had a fixed deadline and needed to be completed in a challenging 6-month period.* Managed a project to implement a customer records system for the Care and Support division including the innovative use of digital pen technology (utilising OSKA from Octavia Software Solutions)* Defined business requirements for a Document Management system.* Leading a team of 9 analysts and developers on Midland Heart’s portfolio of major IT projects and business as usual support (for Northgate Housing); responsible for revenue and capital budgets with a combined value £2.5m.

* Successfully led a £1m project to upgrade HSBC’s global system for collating its financial results (Oracle / Hyperion HFM). This was achieved on time and budget with no disruption to 2,500 users worldwide despite needing extensive supplier liaison. The upgrade resulted in a significant reduction in the time taken to collate HSBC’s Group results.* Provision of IT Systems to HSBC head office functions and leading 12 UK & 10 India based staff and controlling an annual development budget of £2.5m.

Seconded to HSBC Global Headquarters in Canary Wharf to provide IT support for the newly created global IT Shared Service Organisation. * Defined the IT Strategy for the Shared Service Organisation throughout all HSBC’s IT functions. This required liaison with key regions, by phone and personal visits to ensure that the global strategy aligned with local needs.* Led a team to design, develop and deliver a bespoke £2.5m IT billing system for all HSBC’s IT operations worldwide. The system manages the chargeback of all IT expenditure within HSBC (5 billion US dollars per annum). The team comprised 6 UK based staff and an India based team of 20. The system enabled the rapid implementation of the new IT charging method and proved flexible in coping with subsequent changes to charging policy.
