Fred Hanson is a Producer, Director and Project Manager with extensive experience in both the creative and production sides of the entertainment business. He most recently directed "Sunset Boulevard" at the Teatro Sandanter in São Paulo. Prior to that he directed "Oklahoma!" at the Ogunquit Playhouse, and "Singin' in the Rain" also in São Paulo, which received 6 Bibi Ferreira awards, including Best Director and Best Musical. He was Deputy Operations Manager at Cerimônias Cariocas 2016, the producer of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2016 Olympics and Paralympics.Based in New York and Rio de Janeiro and fluent in Portuguese, he was Location Producer for ESPN for their Host Set Studio for the World Cup 2014 in Rio de Janeiro.On Broadway and for National tours, he has served varied functions including Executive Producer, Associate Director, Production Supervisor and Stage Manager on many productions including Pippin, Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Carousel, Oklahoma, 42nd Street, and Evita.He has re-mounted several of these productions for foreign markets including Brazil and Japan as well as directing new versions of these and other shows at major US and international theatres including the St. Louis Muny, Kansas City Starlight, Wolf Trap, Imperial Theater (Tokyo), Teatro Bradesco (São Paulo) and Teatro João Caetano (Rio de Janeiro).He also has extensive experience in Conflict Resolution as a Mediator.
