Appointed by the Kansas Secretary of State - responsible for conducting and administering elections in Johnson County, Kansas.

Appointed by the Mayor confirmed by City Council - responsible for managing the city’s daily affairs, including the budget, finance, and human resources functions, as well as overseeing the planning, codes enforcement, and City Clerk functions for a first-ring suburban municipality located in northeast Johnson County, Kansas of the Kansas City metropolitan area.

Administered over the planning and zoning, codes administration, and building inspection divisions of a fast growing full-service municipality located on the southwestern urban fringe of the Kansas City metropolitan region. Provided technical assistance to City Council, Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, other city departments and citizens. Coordinated all geographic information system (GIS) activities.

Current Planning Division - Consulted with developers, architects, attorneys and the general public regarding zoning and development proposals for a large fast growing suburban community in the southern Kansas City metropolitan region. Prepared and presented staff reports as they relate to city ordinances and policies.

Administered over the long-range planning, building inspections, code enforcement and zoning administration functions for an exurban county located in the southern extent of the Kansas City Metropolitan region. Responsible for supervising all activities of the Planning & Development department; for implementation of the county's comprehensive plan; the review and update of the zoning and subdivision regulations; and, conducting a review process for zoning, land division, building construction and development applications. Coordinated with the county’s municipalities regarding extra-territorial zoning issues

Prepared staff reports for agenda items and made presentations to the Planning Commission, City Commission, and the Board of County Commissioners for a joint city/county planning department. Administered the Metropolitan Planning Organization's (MPO) budget of allocated federal transportation planning funds. Responsible for the MPO’s state and federal transportation planning requirements. Executed an analysis of implementing a fixed-route public transportation system.
