Another project was on optimizing activated carbon for use in a military gas mask. 1969-1984- General Mgr of Catalyst Research Corp, an MSA subsidiary. Led the team that developed the first commercial lithium battery. Developed for a pacemaker that extended pacemaker life from 1.5 to 10 years. More than 20 million patients have benefited so far. 1984-1996- General Manager of Instrument Division and associated subsidiaries including Callery Chemical, Baseline Industries a battery plant and Sibertech, in Novosibirsk. Baseline and Sibertech were both involved in chromatography.
