I carry out occasional lecturing e.g. a level 3 module on 'Behavioural Ecology' but I also help deliver and mark a cross-disciplinary field course module in the Himalayas (on the India-Tibet border) where teams of Biologists, Human Geographers, Physical Geographers and Zoologists tackle issues such as Ecotourism.

I worked at the University of Swansea until 30th September 2010, teaching behavioral sciences. I also did work for the Quality Assurance Agency and the Institute of Biology

Published more than 220 peer reviewed papers in the general area of Physiology and Behaviour. Served as editor of the International journal Aggressive Behavior and served as President of the International Society for research on Aggression.

Head of School for 3 years and Chairs of the Heads of University Biosciences for 4 years. Helped to write the first two QAA Benchmarks for Biosciences.

Did research on animal behaviour and lectured (I still do) on topics including Behavioural Ecology and Animal Conservation. Devised and have led a number of field courses in the UK and India. Head of School for a 3 year term.

I advise on behavioural issues surrounding the responses of fish to light in an EU-funded project involving UK, Norwegian and German nationals to develop a 3-D video system for estimating the sizes of fish (notable Salmon and Bass) in fish pens.
