Capital programs typically include horizontal infrastructure such as Airports, Roads & Bridges, Water Treatment & Delivery, Power Delivery & Generation and Rail, as well as vertical building construction projects. My focus as a Solutions Consultant is working with facility owners and operators, such as Cities, Counties, State Agencies, Health Care Organizations, Higher Educational Institutions and Commercial Enterprises to develop an integrated solution and scope of work that will achieve those strategic goals. Evaluate and implement virtual design construction (VDC) technology. Standardize VDC practices across organization for 3D Clash, 4D Schedule and 5D Cost. Integrate VDC applications into existing services such as project & document management, estimating and collaborative data exchange. Develop long term corporate VDC strategy, including IPD and LEAN. Maintain BIM training program. Manage VDC Group which assists projects with implementing BIM.3D Conflict and Analysis: Utilizing 3D models that represent a project’s major systems, identifies both hard and soft (clearance between objects) design conflicts.4D Scheduling and Sequencing: Integrate a 3D model of a project design with a project’s critical path method (CPM) schedule in order to create a “virtual” construction simulation. Assist project teams in improving communication, planning, analysis, and optimization of project scope and schedule through 4D model.5D Cost: Integrate modeling with estimating and project management systems to enable quantity take-offs, cost estimating and tracking of RFI’s and submittals.Visualizations: Develop design visualizations such as renderings and videos that demonstrate project phasing and material installation. Design field work and layout areas for superintendents that define items such as crane locations, job trailers and material storage.
