Fred Davis is a former federal prosecutor who is a member of the Bars of New York and Paris. He is an elected fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, an elected life member of the American Law Institute, and elected fellow of the International Academy of Financial Crime Litigators. He advises clients and fellow lawyers on issues relating to multi-jurisdictional criminal investigations and related matters.Mr. Davis is a Lecturer in Law at Columbia Law School, and has served as a Visiting Lecturer in Law at Yale School and as the Nomura Lecturer in International Law at Harvard Law School. He is the author of American Criminal Justice: An Introduction, published by Cambridge University Press, and of many articles in French and English on topics relating to criminal justice. He is a frequent lecturer at the Ecole Nationale de la Magistrature in France and at other law faculties in Europe. He has served as chair of the European Affairs Committee of the New York City Bar Association and as Co-Chair of the Business Crime Committee of the International Bar Association. Mr. Davis also founded and led a series of trial advocacy training seminars (in French and English) for the prosecutors and defense counsel of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, has advised the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court on trial strategy, and participated in the trial in Dakar, Senegal against Hissène Habré for crimes against humanity as one of the counsel for the principal group of victims.After graduation from Columbia Law School he served as law clerk to Henry J. Friendly, Chief Judge of the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and to Potter Stewart, Justice of the Supreme Court.
