The ReSpace Alliance is a membership network bringing together socially-minded councils, businesses, charities, community groups and individuals - united by a desire to build a better world.ReSpace Projects, a sister organisation, emerged 9 years ago, wanting to address society’s wasted resources. We are often led to believe that we exist in a time of scarcity when in actual fact, in the UK, we are surrounded by abundance - the issue is we just can’t access much of it, which leads to a plethora of social issues. Many buildings remain empty, food thrown away, and warehouses filled with excess building materials and clothes.Therefore, ReSpace Projects went about testing ways to change this, building a model that could be used to access and manage empty space that exists around us, setting up mutual aid hubs that deliver crucial community services. What developed was an award-winning organisation that empowers local communities via the use of otherwise-wasted resources - a system sharing empty buildings with communities, on a temporary basis, to provide solutions to a variety of social issues.The ReSpace Alliance is an extension of this - enabling, and then also connecting, a multitude of these respaced projects via creating a wider network of them. For the respacing model to realise its potential – and grow from strengthening communities to impacting society as a whole - we need to move beyond creating singular examples of these projects, and instead connect a number of them simultaneously.These buildings and surrounding communities can then share resources and know-how between them - reducing waste, capitalising on the space we have, creating an enterprise culture, and offering crucial space to those who need it - thus creating a greener economy and addressing structural inequalities within, and in-between, boroughs.It is designed to reduce inequality and empower communities by re-connecting empty spaces, surplus resources and local expertise.

A multi-faceted music platform that I've been running since 2014, dedicated to being inclusive suppliers of underground culture and musical eclecticism.Successes include:- event series in Bristol/London/Manchester at some of the city's most reputable underground music venues- an active soundcloud channel with various content formats, having now received in excess of 1.25million plays- running a stage for 3 years at Boomtown Festival- curating and releasing 25+ projects (and counting) on our record label- a broad editorial output for 5+ years, releasing over 1200 engaging articles (creative writing, event review, release reviews, premieres, interviews, niche features, community journalism)- a weekly mix series project which has been running since 18th September 2014!- radio residencies on stations across the UK.
