This work was completed for my 3rd year dissertation as research for Brunel Racings’ 3rd electric car iteration BRE-3. This focused on taking CAD models of the aerodynamic package and designing various internal wing structure assemblies with mounting solutions for structural simulation. The simulations were completed using the ANSYS Mechanical Static Structural software package, with an aim to successfully identify the best assembly in terms of deflection observed whilst adhering to a mass restriction, material cost budget, and among other factors keeping the teams manufacturing ability in mind.
