Exploration and New Ventures geoscientist with 30+ years of broad experience in the oil and gas industry; iron mining, and environmental and hydrogeology studies. Holds a BSc in Geological Engineering from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP), MG, Brazil, a MSc in Remote Sensing from the National Institute of Spatial Research (INPE), SP, Brazil and a Doctorate in Structural Geology from UFOP in cooperation with the Royal Holloway University of London. Member and Certified Petroleum Geologist (#6315) of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), and the Houston Geological Society (HGS). Familiar with multiple petroleum basins in the Pacific and Atlantic margins of Latin America, and in the north and west margins of Africa, encompassing varied structural settings, stratigraphy and depositional systems. Coincident with professional accomplishments, has remained current with advances in stratigraphic and structural concepts, G&G applications, industry technology, and management concepts and techniques in an effort to support and maximize team productivity for prospect generation in the exploration and production (E&P) segment of the oil and gas industry value chain. Collaborate with exploration assessment groups to apply prospect evaluation work flow for organic growth. Determine and apply risk assessment method to manage exposure in higher cost and risk environments. Manage budgets while providing technical expertise and guidance on new ventures and exploration projects at a strategic level. Adhere to corporate and government health, environmental and safety regulations. Fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
