I am responsible for leading the production of high quality external financial reports, ensuring a sound internal control environment and the governance of activities up to and including the Trial Balance. Working closely with operational managers to ensure financial reports are accurate and of a high quality to support in organizational decision making. I analyze the economic stability of the company and provide financial information to other departments on costs, productivity, margins and company expenditures.Key responsibilities include; Develop and maintain accounting systems and procedures in accordance with international financial reporting standards and industry best-practice. Continuously track, accurately report and circulate key financial metrics to relevant stakeholders at requisite time intervals. Oversee the budgeting process, review the plans vs actual on regular basis; analyze in-depth any variance and communicate this to all stakeholders. Provide supervision, guidance and direction to the finance staff according to the policies, procedures, processes and systems put in place. Prepare monthly and quarterly management information package, trial balance schedules, analysis of credit sales, purchases, costing and review of the top five variances in the P & L and balance sheet. Ensure all statutory requirements relating to Corporate Tax, VAT, WHT, and PAYE have been executed on a timely manner. Perform and review weekly, monthly and year end closure procedures which include reconciling the Profit and Loss account, Balance sheet, General ledgers and Bank account. Work with internal and external partners and ensure full cooperation from the finance department and compliance with all requests. Assess risk and opportunities, support management to take corrective actions, and make proactive recommendations on business improvement. Perform scenario-based analysis and develop plans on product enhancement or new business initiatives.
