I am a multi-award-winning, professional researcher currently undertaking a PhD in real-time coastal change modelling based at the University of Glasgow, and providing science direction for the OirthirSAT nanosatellite mission. My career in geoscience has taken me down through the profile of a river catchment: starting with my undergraduate Geology research in the topographic analysis of coseismic landslide locations in the Nepali Himalayas; then to the floodplains of the Sierra Madre del Sur in Mexico in my GIS Masters where I calibrated a hydrodynamic model with Sentinel satellite imagery; and then to the coasts of Scotland where I was the sole Research Assistant on the Dynamic Coast project. I am experienced in commercial and open-source GIS, multiple coding languages and open-source software development, numerical modelling, fieldwork data collection and database management, natural disaster prediction and mitigation, renewable energy systems and policy, and visual and spatial analytics. My interests lie in geomorphology and Earth surface process modelling.

Programme Science OfficerOirthirsat Dec 2021 - PresentGlasgow, Scotland, United KingdomDirecting the data capture and usage of GUOrbit's OirthirSAT mission, a 3U CubeSat designed for the LaunchUK Nanosat Design Competition hosted by the UK Space Agency. I developed the mission objectives of using onboard processing to automatically extract coastal boundaries in space, significantly decreasing the lead-time of obtaining coastal data for hazard management. Upon launch I will also perform validation of the data products. -
