As a job developer, coach and facilitator in the Youth Job Connection program, I partner with community employers to prospect, qualify and secure successful and rewarding employment for youth facing multiple barriers to the labour market. I provide coaching and on-the-job training for both employers and employees, enabling workplace learning, and job retention. Using a relationship based strengths approach and motivational interviewing techniques, I build rapport with youth, enabling them to enact positive personal and professional change.Specific accomplishments include: - Immediately recognizing the unaddressed mental health challenges many youth are facing, I initiated community partnerships to provide services for individuals experiencing concentration and executive functioning difficulties. The "Working with ADD" workshop is now offered on a regular basis and is one of the most attended public workshops offered at the Lutherwood Guelph location.- With limited resources, I manage a high volume caseload of youth facing complex personal and professional challenges, while maintaining a 97% placement rate.- Through proactive community outreach and relationship building, I have attracted positive press on several occasions, drawing attention to youth unemployment and mental health issues, and publicizing local social support services.

During the 41st and 42nd General Federal Elections, I was responsible for revision and control of the Preliminary List of Electors in the Halton and Cambridge Electoral Districts. Some of the fastest growing districts in Canada, they presented unique challenges for revision processes. During the 42nd General Election responsibilities were expanded to include training and development of polling day staff, and community outreach activities concentrated on the youth population. Specific duties: - Sourced, hired, trained and supervised a team of 20+ revision agents, implemented schedules and controlled budget to deliver all data revision activities on time and under budget. - Implemented confidentiality procedures for integrity of personal information, and ensured a transparent protocol for voter registration. - Oversaw office operations when needed, and acted as a key trouble-shooter for ad hoc issues on election day. - Facilitated training for over 250 polling day staff ensuring maximum knowledge transfer of subjects including information privacy procedures, customer service and electoral procedures.

At Shibaura, I was responsible for classroom management, teaching English conversation and phonics in a solo teaching environment to 200 + students ranging from age 11-17. I planned and implemented an English curriculum (JHS levels 1-2) and a phonics pronunciation course (JHS level 1). I also created challenging and appropriate oral and written communication tests conforming to Shibaura and the Japanese government's high standard of English education.

Placed in a rural Japanese setting, I was tasked with creating cultural and linguistic ties through teaching English in 4 Senior High Schools.
