As lead UX designer at Unionen, I work with mapping and visualizing the challenges that our users experience, create prototypes of concepts and test with users to find out what works and what should be iterated. This includes conducting qualitative user interviews, analysis and concept ideation, as well as facilitating cross-functional design workshops. Since it is key to consider the user experience as a whole, I involve colleagues from different parts of the organization, and have a close collaboration with service design. A successful solution meets both user needs and internal goals.

We live in an exciting time, and Scania is no exception. To prepare us for a near future with self-driving vehicles, I worked with exploring how relevant intentions and behaviours should be communicated between autonomous vehicles and people in the vicinity. To understand the user needs and expectations, this involved iterative user research, ideation and user tests. As team leader, I was also responsible for enabling the team.

Who doesn't appreciate the challenge between great user experience and technical limitations? I know I do. That's why I thrived as an interaction designer juggling tasks like designing the button layout of the future buses' instrument panel, and the user interaction for advanced driver support functions such as blind spot detection and lane keep assist, where it is critical that the user understands when the vehicle is in charge and when you yourself are.

Implementing the graphical user interface in the instrument cluster display, what I made on the screen is what the drivers now see in the new trucks. Cross-functional collaboration was essential, involving system developers, visual graphics and interaction designers.

Development of a concept for providing feedback to the driver when switching between manual and autonomous mode. Focus was on user studies and prototyping. The project resulted in a graphical user interface in combination with auditory feedback.

Summer work. 3D-modelling of a product idea, as well as updated CAD-parts and drawings for a product family, and converted these to a new CAD-system.
