My profession experience and academic education in Marine Sciences has allowed me to peek into various industries and be involved in a variety of projects. My Bachelor Degree in Marine and Freshwater Biology (Ireland) gave me a scientific foundation while the Masters Degree (Aquatic Ecology, Sweden) allowed for critical thinking and interest development. My work at SE Aquatic Solutions allowed me to look into areas such as coastal management by local authorities, small fisheries challenges, pharmaceuticals in the environment and waste water treatment. I started a PhD Program with GU which allowed me to gain insights in marine aquaculture, the challenges and the benefits as well as further research into bio plastics. I gained experience in conducting meta-analysis and also supervised students during their thesis work, which I really liked. After my return to Ireland, I focused on raising my family and also enjoyed that role. During my time at home I set up Root Up Microgreens, a small scale horticulture business which focused on microgreens. This allowed me to continue to work but remain flexible with my time at home. It is time to return to work and start a new phase in my life and my career.
