Introduction to Philosophy

Assisted classes include Introduction to Philosophy, Introduction to Ethics, Contemporary Moral Problems, History of Analytic Philosophy, and Philosophy of Religion.

Contemporary Moral Problems

• Developed a safe virtual imaging instrument for logically destructive experiments, including the creation of a secure web-based user creation/authentication system and image transfer service; custom Linux live CDs for automated machine imaging; and back-end development in Ruby, Python, and Bash in coordination with Dr. Pascal Meunier’s ReAssure project.• Deployed, configured, and administered ReAssure’s Apache webserver on Gentoo Linux• Deployed, configured, and administered the ReAssure testbed network of approximately 20 Gentoo Linux machines

Developed a Perl database interface with the support of Dr. Mourad Ouzzani that allowed users to search the E. Coli genomics database at Purdue, as well as transparently access databases at several other institutions. The returned results were then filtered through Purdue's database schema, effectively creating the world's largest E. Coli database.

Graded projects and provided feedback, programming advice, and troubleshooting assistance for students in CS240, an introduction to C and C++ for second-semester Computer Science majors.

Developed a Java simulation of electrolocation in weakly electric fish under the supervision of Dr. Peter Waser and Dr. Chris Bailey-Kellogg.Received a Purdue Bioinformatics grant to fund the project
