Understanding how biological knowledge has made human life more convenient through innovation, research and experiments is crucial for both present and future generations and of great interest to me, which is why I have chosen to do a degree in biomedical science.I am especially interested in genetics - understanding and mapping the genetic code is vital for modern biology and could revolutionise our understanding of how we treat and approach diseases such as cancer, diabetes and mental illnesses in the future.I have done work in a zero-waste eco store interacting with customers often, I also worked a holiday job supervising and caring for children at an outdoor centre. These roles gave me experience of working in a team and taking on responsibilities. My long-term ambition is to be a genetic counsellor, which combines my passion for biosciences and working with people.
