Research For Life is a whole body donation organization and tissue processor of soft and hard tissue.• Office administrative duties-including several enhancements of existing filing, tracking, and computer systems • Marketing through presentations and pre-registration, donor education both by phone and in person• Retention of existing and fostering of new client relationships• Technical writing of policy and procedure • Direct contact with all donor families pre and post death• Ability to motivate and educate pre-registered donors and, at need, donor families of the benefits of donation to the medical world and to the families left behind.• Dispatched for transport and removal of donor upon death, 24 hours a day • Coordinated out of state donation - -immediate transport, secured mortuary, secured air travel• Secured all legal documentation, signatures and authorizations to legally receive, procure, and cremate a donor• Obtained Risk Assessments from donor families upon death to ensure technician safety, ruling out prospect of communicable disease• Worked directly with the Operations Officer to ensure all policy and procedures were followed prior to procurement—also assisted with the organization of special brain and spinal cord procurements that had to take place within a limited period upon death. Worked under direct supervision of the Deputy Prosecuting Attorney assigned to domestic violence cases, and the elected Prosecuting Attorney.•Assisted in the prosecution of domestic violence cases and acted as a community resource to all agencies and individuals involved in combating domestic violence in our community. •Improved hard copy filing systems; communication between the courts, jail and prosecutor’s office following arrest for newly filed cases and pre-arraignment.•Coordination of evidence collection and follow-up by law enforcement and communication between the prosecutor’s office, victims, probation office and batterer intervention programs.•Ongoing implementation of a system that allows for immediate review of specific cases.•Continued implementation of the Bonner County Prosecuting Attorney’s protocol for domestic violence cases. •Promotion and facilitation of the Domestic Violence Task Force to meet on a regular basis for the purpose of bringing the courts, law enforcement, prosecuting attorneys, probation and parole, victim services, and other agencies together in a coordinated community response to domestic violence cases.•Scheduled and assisted in training of law enforcement officers and victim services personnel as concerns evidence collection techniques, evidentiary requirements for successful prosecution of domestic violence cases, the Coordinated Community Response program and the intent and purpose of the Bonner County Prosecuting Attorney’s protocol.This position was most rewarding for me, as I was able to simultaneously advocate for victims and assist in the prosecution of perpetrators of violence. With the added responsibility of supervising the V.A.S.T. office, I have experienced administrative duties as well as limited successful grant writing opportunities.
