Ryan Pfeiffer has dedicated two decades to public safety, beginning in 2007 as an Explorer with Poudre Fire Authority in Fort Collins, Colorado. He completed EMT training at Front Range Community College and moved to Daytona Beach, Florida to earn a Bachelors in Homeland Security from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. From 2010 to 2014 he worked as an EMT on the university’s BLS Emergency Response Team, rising to Chief in his junior year. In 2014, Pfeiffer graduated and was commissioned as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Air Force where his leadership skills evolved greatly. After earning a Top Secret clearance and completing training at Goodfellow AFB he moved to Scott AFB where he filled a variety of supervisory roles and advised senior leaders, including the President of the United States, of security threats to global supply chains. In 2017, he completed one 7-month deployment to Qatar & Afghanistan.In 2015, Pfeiffer had joined the East Side Fire Protection District, a busy volunteer department serving a small residential community 8-miles outside of East Saint Louis. In 2016, he was sponsored through the Fire Academy at Southwestern Illinois College, and in 2018 he graduated with a Masters in Crisis Response and Trauma Counseling from Liberty University. Pfeiffer separated from the U.S. Air Force voluntarily in 2018 to pursue a firefighting career back home in Colorado. He worked in several seasonal and part-time firefighting roles until being hired as the training officer for the Fort Lupton Fire Protection District in 2020. After successfully running the training division for four years, he was granted a lateral transfer to engine lieutenant in 2024. Although he now serves as a career line officer, Pfeiffer remains passionate about training and volunteerism. Since 2018, he has served continuously as both a volunteer firefighter with Loveland Fire Rescue Authority and as an instructor at Aims Community College. He is a member of the International Society of Fire Service Instructors and Colorado & Weld County Training Officer Associations.
