PROJECTS• Analysis of the multigenerational effects of bisphenol A (BPA) exposure on gene expression and epigenetic mediation of disease inheritance in zebrafish• Characterization of the effect of wastewater effluents on the gene expression of fish native to the Bow River (Alberta, Canada)RESPONSIBILITIESAnalysis of Next Generation Sequencing data (RNA-Seq and bisulfite sequencing) to identify alterations in gene expression and DNA methylation in response to BPA exposure in zebrafish (Danio rerio), as well as gene expression chages in longnose dace (Rhinichthys cataractae) exposed to wastewater effluents. Specific gene expression disturbances are also quantified via RT-qPCR and environmental stress is evaluated by measuring cortisol levels in tissues.
