The oldest award of its kind in the United States, the Arts Prize is a testament to the standard of excellence and quality of artists in Northeast Ohio. In addition to artists, the Arts Prize honors individuals who have expanded the community’s participation in the arts and helped make the region more hospitable to creative artistic expression.

• DESIGN ORGANIZATION LEADERSHIP:- Supervised design groups in the US and Asia to ensure design quality standards and to improve better communication between the groups. - Changed the design organization from being divided by product channels to become more flexible and collaborative as in a design consultancy.• DESIGN PORTFOLIO ANALYSIS AND MANAGEMENT:- Led a team of international product planning leaders to achieve efficiency and synergy between international product portfolios. - It entailed analyzing global product design portfolios and building coalition between market leaders. • EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION:- Presented Moen’s design process and philosophy to architects, designers and customers to bring field’s needs and desires into product planning and to establish credibility of Moen design.

• PRODUCT DESIGN FOR INTERNATIONAL MARKETS:- Designed faucets and showers for Moen Canada, Latin America, China, India and US Retail. - Conducted ethnographic design research visits to lived-in and new homes in China and India. - Created and presented a report on cultural and architectural differences of kitchens and bathrooms and consequential product design requirements. • DESIGN TREND ANALYSIS:- Gathered relevant design trends in architecture, interior design and product design. - Presented tailored design trend reports to internal audiences for product planning and external audiences for brand building.• STORE DESIGN AUDIT:- Oversaw the construction of the first exclusive Moen flag ship store in Shanghai while living in China for 3 months. - Performed as a liaison between Moen headquarter, Moen Asia and the architect to establish Moen Showroom Guideline.

• LEAD DESIGN FOR US RETAIL MARKET: - Managed and executed all design projects for the US Retail market including Lowes, Home Depot and Menards.- Closely collaborated with engineering, marketing and vendors in US and Asia.• GROWING NEW PRODUCT CATEGORY: - Performed as an intricate member of growing shower category for Moen. - Designed all the way from the appearance and the “perceived experience” in the store aisle to water experience by collaborating with engineering on shower engine prototypes. - Moen Inspire Showerhead was Consumer Reports’ top-rated product in 2009. • CUSTOMER INTIMACY: - Established the start and the process of Moen industrial design’s collaboration with customer kitchen and bath buyers. - Created and implemented visual tools to analyze product design gaps and redundancies on the store shelves.

• BREADTH OF DESIGN CATEGORIES:- Designed for a wide range of industries including medical, sports, juvenile, and consumer electronics.• DESIGN RESEARCH:- Gathered ethnographic research to achieve human-centered design. • MODEL MAKING AND MODELING:- Made appearance and ergonomics prototypes using foam and renshape.- Modeled Burton goggle for Evo Design website. (the 1st and the last modeling job)

• DESIGN PERFORMANCE GOLD SHOES:- Collaborated with biomechanical engineers to design best traction and comfort for the sport. - Designed outsoles and cleats in Solidworks.- Hand sketched uppers and worked closely with patternmakers.- Wrote specifications for sample prototype teams in Asia.• FROM CONCEPT TO CONSUMER:- Participated in executive global product portfolio planning meetings.- Gathered fashion and golf lifestyle trends.- Created concepts in collaboration with marketing, sales, and engineering.- Traveled to Asia to work with sample makers and vendors. - Followed sales report and consumer feedback to enhance next product designs.
