The Marine Expeditionary Unit logistics section provides command and control oversight in unit-wide logistics, supply, and embarkation events under the direction of the Commander. Additionally, the section coordinates all operational level logistics related requirements as well as assists each Major Subordinate Element S-4 Section in the planning and execution of their associated training/missions. This includes identifying support shortfalls and coordinating with external agencies (HHQ, Contractors, etc.) for delivery of services. Finally, the section manage's the request and support requirements during the execution phase of operations. Commodities that comprise the section prior to composite are Health Services, Supply, Unit Movement Control Center, Armory, Maintenance Management, and Ground Maintenance, Contracting, Food Service, and Ammunition.

The mission of the Drill Instructor School is to develop the knowledge, command presence, leadership and instructional ability of selected officers, staff non-commissioned and non-commissioned duties of a series officer and drill instructor. The Assistant Director provides leadership to the school staff and students, and provides oversight to daily operations of the school. The Assistant Director also serves as the primary instructor for the Series Commander Course (SCC) and coordinates the development and accomplishment of the training schedule. The mission of the SCC is to train, educate, and introduce newly assigned company grade officers with the basic knowledge and skills to successfully perform the duties as a series commander within the Recruit Training Regiment (RTR).-Provided leadership, managed daily operations, and supervised the training of 319 Drill Instructor students over the course of six training cycles. Training involved developing the command presence, leadership and instruction abilities of selected Marines in the duties of a Drill Instructor.-Served as primary instructor for the Series Commander Course, which trained and educated 23 newly assigned Officers with the basic knowledge and skills to perform the duties as a series commander.-Decorated for exceptional performance by the Regimental Commander.

-Responsible for the conduct, training, and welfare of six Officers, 30 Drill Instructors and over 1,250 recruits assigned to Recruit Training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot as part of Companies L and M, 3d RTBN.-Ensured compliance with the requirements of the Standing Operating Procedure for Recruit Training through leadership, presence, and daily interviews with Recruits and Drill Instructors.-Served as the Range Safety Officer and Officer-In-Charge responsible for the safe conduct and execution of all water survival, physical training, and live fire events.-Conducted 8 Preliminary Investigations as Investigating Officer appointed by the RTBN Commander.-Maintained accountability of $6.3 million worth of issued equipment over the course of five training cycles.

Responsible for the welfare, training, and discipline of assigned Marines; providing direct support limited field level maintenance support for the engineer, ordnance,communications-electronic, and motor transport equipment in support of the battalion's mission; and for the accountability and maintenance readiness of assigned equipment.-Responsible for the welfare and discipline of 62 Marines; provided maintenance support for the engineer, ordnance, communications-electronic, and motor transport equipment in support of the battalion's mission.-Participated in the CLB-4 mission analysis operational planning team; providing input on mission essential tasks, table of organization & equipment, and the battalion's mission.-Deployed and redeployed 48 Marines, Sailors, and Soldiers to Thailand from Okinawa in support of exercise Cobra Gold; responsible for port operations, air delivery operations, postal, and intra-theater supply distribution. -Responsible for the maintenance and accountability of $2.1 million worth of issued equipment.-Decorated for exceptional performance by the Regimental Commander.

-Led and supervised the training of 180 Marines and Sailors; and deployed them to Al Anbar Province, Iraq.-Participated as a core member in the CLB-4 operational planning team for Operation Iraqi Freedom 09.1; planning concepts of support to Regimental Combat Team 6 and coalition forces throughout Al Anbar Province. -Lead planner and coordinator for the CLB-4 draw down of equipment, supplies, and facilities; developing a plan that resulted in over $40 million of assets turned in to Marine Corps Logistics Command.-Developed a synchronization matrix to plan key dates and events during the redeployment of over 700 Marines and Sailors from Iraq to their designated home stations.-Developed a plan to displace 180 Marines and Sailors and their equipment from Camp Baharia to Camps Taqqadum and Ramadi during the closure of one of the largest coalition bases in Multi-National Forces West.-Decorated for exceptional performance by the Battalion Commander.

-Served as the principle logistics planner for 3d Maint. Bn by supporting and providing internal logistics support to a Battalion of 580 Marines and managed an annual budget exceeding $5 million.-Planned and executed the concept of logistics support for a training exercise in the Republic of Korea for 120 Marines and Sailors. Personally responsible for coordinating host nation support; to include billeting, contracting support, transportation, health services, feeding, and admin support. -Underwent a Higher Headquarters inspection and scored a 100% mission capable in all areas of responsibility.
