Responsible for strategically positioning NRECA politically with Members of Congress, the national parties, and ensuring the programs soundness and credibility with our membership. Ensures compliance with all FEC regulations. Provides expert level advice to Department VPs, administers a multi-million-dollar Political Action Committee (America’s Electric Cooperatives PAC), and serves as a senior member of the GR decision making team. Directs PAC operations; orchestrates GR department functions; manages and supervises staff for day-to-day operations. a) Treasurer of America’s Electric Cooperatives PAC with authority to sign monthly FEC reports as factual public documents. b) Leads approval process for all PAC contributions and works with GR senior management and CEO regarding PAC contributions.c) Provides expertise to statewide CEOs on fundraising practices & provides political intelligence, manages contribution requests, reviews regulations and coordination of PAC contributions. d) Analyzes monthly PAC financial statements for accuracy and reviews report to FEC for accuracy and timeliness. e) Oversees fundraising events for Members of Congress.f) Partners with statewide associations to initiate PAC Consumer – Member programs. g) Directs PAC staff and establishes guidelines for accuracy of day- to-day operations. h) Leads planning and implementation of new programs and system changes; keeps informed of IRS and FEC rules and regulations that could adversely impact NRECA’s PAC, PACE Fund, and Good Government Golf Fund.i) Oversees continuous updating of program material and works with outside vendors to create materials explaining benefits of America’s Electric Cooperative PAC. j) Registers receipts and disbursements in accordance with political objectives of NRECA. k) Provides expert analysis to the PAC executive committee on PAC contributions, legislators' standing on REC issues, updates on political campaigns.
