As a social epidemiologist, I'm committed to putting out research that helps communities confront health inequities, develop effective policy, and build happier, healthier lives. My work focuses on how social policy, social stratification, and the places we live affect our health. I particularly focus on housing and segregation, including my dissertation work on eviction and children's well-being. Before earning my PhD and joining the SPHERE team at UCSF, I was a public policy researcher at Abt Associates, where I focused on low-income people's access to community and government resources and the impact of those resources.Current work includes:- Leveraging natural experiments to study the effects of school segregation on child & young adult health- Testing links between eviction & health, including lead poisoning, hospitalization, & insurance coverage- Mapping police violence & surveillance
