Gabriel Fuentes Email and Phone Number

Gabriel Fuentes is a New York City based designer, writer, and educator--earning graduate degrees in both architecture (Florida International University) and urban design (Columbia University). Additionally, he has a graduate certificate in architectural history, theory and criticism from FIU, where he was nominated for the prestigious SOM Travelling Fellowship and awarded the Bronze Medal for Excellence in Architecture. He has taught introductory and advanced architecture studios at NJIT, NYIT, and Florida International University as well as architectural history / theory and representation at Miami-Dade College. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Architecture at Marywood University were he teaches architectural design studio as well as courses in architectural history / theory and urbanism. He has been a visiting critic at Columbia GSAPP, Barnard College, Parsons the New School for Design, the University of Miami, and the University of Pennsylvania. In 2010, he founded DA | S (Design Action Studio for Research, Architecture + Urbanism): a research-driven, interdisciplinary, and collaborative design practice that engages the city at a gradient of scales while recognizing the discipline’s historical / theoretical role in the production of architectural knowledge.His design work has been published and recognized with multiple awards including and Honor Award for Unbuilt Design from the Boston Society of Architects and 4 Design Awards from AIA Florida and AIA Miami combined. He has presented several papers and projects at various academic conferences both nationally and abroad.
