  • London Stock Exchange Group (Lseg)
    Test Manager
London Stock Exchange Group (Lseg) Oct 2018 - Present
    Bucharest, Romania
I am managing a team of 30 functional, automation and performance QAs focused on testing all the regulatory reporting Solutions (Mifir, EMIR, SFTR, G20, SIX) offered by Unavista to our customers. We started with a small team of 8 functional QAs in 2018 and driven by the desire to adopt Agile Scrum, to increase the testing coverage, to invest in automation and in performance testing we continuously grew the team.We now reached 90% Automation for the European solutions, using the internally developed Java based framework and the Kinesis CI. Our automated tests follow the TestNG format, are stored in GIT and we are running them from Jenkins. Our performance tests are automated using Jmeter and the KPI values are displayed in Grafana. We use Quality Center as a test case repository and we manage the scope of releases in Jira.We ensured we always maintained a close collaboration with the members of the Scrum teams and with other stakeholders from Pre-Sales, Customer Service and Professional Services. They provided valuable input during our root cause analysis meetings (here customer resolved defects were analyzed and then translated into QA test cases) and they helped us to continuously increase the testing coverage. Training and upskilling the testing team was one of my focal points. We developed videos and recordings to ease the new joiners integration in the team and we kept all training materials in Confluence up to date. Most members of the functional team went through a 6 months instructor led training on Java in order to be able to automate tests using our framework. Everybody was trained on how to interact with Microsoft SQL server and how to work in the Agile environment. Our current goals are focused on increasing the performance KPIs for all solutions, on further increasing the automation coverage, on testing newly developed Unavista products, on moving the QA environments to Cloud (Azure) and on migrating our test cases from QC to Zephyr.
  • Finastra
    Test Manager
    Finastra Feb 2014 - Sep 2018
    Bucharest, Romania
At Finastra I coordinated a team of 30 people responsible for testing FusionInvest, a product dedicated to asset management firms and big investment banks. We worked Agile (Scrum) for the new releases and Waterfall for the maintenance ones.I started working with a team of 10 juniors that had background in finance/banks but with no experience in testing. I trained and guided them during several sessions and I went through all the documentation provided by ISTQB materials. I also organized meetings where Product Managers explained the main functionalities and use cases of FusionInvest. We became better and better, we incresed the testing coverage, we increased the size of the team and the skills matrix and we invested in test automation (using Robot framework). I planned and managed the testing of all FusionInvest software releases, considering the business priorities, requirements, risks and constraints. I also monitored the test execution and bug validation progress, I sent status and sign off reports and I collected and published metrics for all QA releases.I documented the QA strategy, objectives, the QA artifacts, processes and tools.I hired new joiners, organized bootcamps, managed resource allocation, I set up objectives and assessed the individual performance during mid-year and annual reviews. I promoted people, I gave pay raises and allocated annual bonuses.
