 Provide surveying/field engineering support for the final design, orientation, layout, flagging, final site drawings for The Northern Highway in Canada (sub-arctic area). Providing surveying/field engineering support for construction bridges, staking/earthwork projects, topographic projects (final as-builts). Keep the Survey Supervisor informed of the status of surveying/field engineering activities. Perform complex surveying calculations using engineering calculator, laptop computer, personal computer, and graphics and coordinate geometry (Cogo) software, and prepares finished grade sheets, topographic maps, records of survey, corner records, and other survey reports Set up, adjust, and operate surveying equipment, including electronic total station, data collector, and GPS equipment, in order to measure distances, elevations, and angles; prepares field notes and drawings; Participate in pre-survey planning meetings with project managers, resident engineers, and contractor representatives; assign and monitor work, and provide input for evaluation of members of field survey crew; instruct and train survey crew in survey and mapping methods, use of equipment, and field safety procedures. Day to day stakeout and as-built surveys as required in support of construction of industrial facilities and services.

 Surveyed access roads, building supports, construction sites, municipal buildings, and subdivisions. Contributed to major Canadian Projects such as the CALGARY RING ROAD (145km roads + 49 Bridges) - Stoney Trail Road and Bridges (18 months), construction dykes for the High River Town – Tervita’s Project (10 months), Yukon-Tuktoyaktuk Highway NWT and other construction projects with Ellis Don (Calgary Airport), Kellerdenali Construction, Kor-Alta, Opus, and Cana Constructions. Provided quality control by checking for accuracy at all control points, benchmarks, gridlines, survey marks, elevations, and stakeout points. Will also monitor the site for correct elevations and locations of the structural components as the building progresses. Verified as-built conditions that require the use of surveying techniques and will assist in the creation of as-built drawings as required. Provided topographic and cross-section surveys as required for planning and payment quantities. Developed survey plans, methods, and procedures for conducting legal surveys. Planned, directed and supervised or conducted surveys to establish legal boundaries of properties. Communicated effectively with the project manager as to project progress, problems, client change requests, and job completion. Liaised with onsite subs trades, carpenters, foreman, etc. that building elements are in the correct location and check as necessary. Trained survey crew members and holds members accountable for performance which meets company standards. Ensured all operations are consistent with the requirements of the HSE program.
