I am working in the ENOC/CSPC center in Charlotte. The ENOC is an OCO, overall control center, and it is currently my responsibility to oversee L1/L2/L3 Advanced Switch Ethernet provisioning and delivery to the customer. Within this responsibility, it is my job to coordinate fiber and equipment placement, provisioning, and testing to meet critical management due dates. Time management skills are essential to this type of work because of the amount of order volume we see on a daily basis. I have a working knowledge of Port-based and VLAN based P2P and MP EVC's and the equipment ATT requires to provision these types of circuits. I work with Ciena Switches, Juniper Routers, and ROADM multiplexers on a daily basis and a thorough understanding of how these devices are configured and work is needed to speed up the troubleshooting process if problems arise. It is my responsibility to verify the field work and central office work is completed on time and correctly. This requires extensive interaction with Field Technicians and CO Technicians to meet the customer requested service date.
  • Att/Bellsouthtelecommunications Services
    Electronics Technician
    Att/Bellsouthtelecommunications Services Sep 2000 - Jan 2013
As an Electronics Technician for ATT/Bellsouth I worked mainly in Switching. I was in charge of thenetwork switches in one of the largest central offices in North Carolina, requiring a solid understanding of all facets of C.O. operations. I have been responsible for several types of TDM switching equipment and carrier systems throughout my career at ATT. I was responsible for Lucent 5E/4E, Nortel/Genband DMS, Comverse VMS and various other types of switching equipment. Along with formal training on these switches I received extensive training on various carrier systems. My main job functions required me to provide a clear and concise explanation to various CO managers and coworkers on trouble resolutions within and outside of the switching equipment. I was required by the nature of my position to troubleshoot switch and wiring problems throughout the entire C.O. and to the next handoff office. Even then I worked with the Field Technicians and neighboring Central Office technicians until the trouble was resolved. I mainly worked without supervision and contacted ticketing offices for my workload and trouble ticket status.
