From the age of fifteen, I have worked to become financially independent, responsible, and professional. I have maintained an excellent work ethic. Throughout my professional journey thus far I have led people of all ages and trained them to set standards. Working in the service industry, I have mastered teamwork, great people skills, and time management. Moreover, I have fostered a servant’s heart and strive to help anyone that I can. Being a construction science major has been intellectually stimulating and rewarding. My advisors and professors have given me the tools to excel in a professional environment. It has also allowed me to gain construction-related experience via internships, site-tours, and in classroom practice. I recently reached out to my department and offered to be a lab assistant to provide lab experiences in the materials science class. In doing this, I want to strengthen my leadership skills while helping my department. It will be a great opportunity to work with my peers and gain a hands-on understanding of construction materials and practices. Additionally, I am the active community service ambassador for the Construction Science Club, where I strive to provide avenues of service. Culminating these experiences and skills, along with my compassion to serve others, I have thrived in the academic environment.
