This job involves doing daytime & nighttime support for the proper operation of both several instruments & the telescopes, plus maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades for instruments, telescope & computer infrastructure.I've worked for the Magellan project previously both as a software developer, system administrator & telescope operations, for 7 years.In the past I've been involved for 4 years in the site characterization for the GMT, and as so I'm experienced in every detail of site testing, from planing, to deployment, usage, data reduction and selection, documentation and publishing.Since its inception in 2011 I've been an active member of the Observatory's Safety Committee.Specialties: Instrument & optics maintenance, software design, develop and deployment, big telescopes operations, site testing and characterization, astronomical data reduction, meteorology. Python, C, Objective-C.On my off time I enjoy training Dog Agility with my family (currently my wife & 7 dogs).
