Hi, my name is Gabriel Maxwell and I am a ambitious worker developing a career centered in language services. I graduated with a degree in Spanish from Ohio University, and I taught English in Murcia, Spain from 2018 to 2020. While I am more interested in interpretation and translation, any opportunity to bridge gaps in language is an ideal fit for me. I am a native English speaker and I am fluent in Spanish. To supplement my core language studies at Ohio University, I spent one year studying Spanish translation and translation theory. After graduating, I accepted a teaching assistant position in Murcia, Spain to expand my work experience and immerse myself in the Spanish language. My teaching position was the ideal "trial by fire", forcing me to have complete control over the English language while accurately conveying class concepts in Spanish.Language studies have always interested me, and the idea of helping people bridge the gap between languages interests me even more. From taking the occasional interpreting call for my Dad's work during my time as a student to my current role in a Migrant and Seasonal Head Start program, being a reliable and professional conduit between people has brought me great satisfaction, and I hope to continue to do so. My skillset, work ethic, and desire to learn and grow in the language services field make me a good fit for all manner of work. Thank you for considering me for your project.
