In my role I will be focusing on developing partnerships with European institutions such as CSDs/ICSDs, Triparty agents, Exchanges, Trading Platforms and Central Banks. More broadly I will be looking to build a solid deal pipeline on the continent by engaging with both providers of African Eurobonds as collateral and Institutions providing secured funding.

Elixium is a new electronic trading platform for collateral and secured deposits. A standardised model provides all participants access to collateralised liquidity on a fair, transparent, low-cost, equitable basis. The platform is an MTF (multilateral trading facility) operated by Tradition (UK) Ltd. Tradition (UK) Ltd is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Elixium seeks to address the current fragmentary and inefficient state of the repo and stock lending markets due to the impact of regulation upon balance sheet. We aim to achieve this by creating a peer to peer marketplace. This is facilitated by standardisation, both of legal framework and of collateral schedules. By signing one standard GMRA, together with bespoke annexes, the platform provides participants with immediate legal capacity to engage with all counterparties both present and future. An underlying credit matrix then allows participant members to choose whom they wish to trade with bilaterally via a tri-party agent by assigning lines of credit. We also support CCP cleared transactions. Providing substantially accelerated counterparty diversification and supporting pre trade anonymity, the platform will offer a deep liquidity pool for institutions either interested in placing cash on a fully collateralised basis, seeking funding against their inventory.
