About Gabriele De Mattia

In my current position at Candela as Product Manager I combine deep knowledge around our products and our customers to design the world's best electric foiling vessels. Together with 200+ colleagues I am part of one of the fastest growing scale-up companies in the marine sector. I hold a M.Sc. in manufacturing engineering, which I combine in my daily job with business acumen, a focus on leadership behaviour, a pragmatic approach and deep passion for the products we develop and for watersports in general. Prior to my role as Product Manager and during my first 1.5 years at Candela I worked as Operations Development manager. During this time I was responsible for New Product Introduction from R&D to manufacturing and for drastically scaling up production output, while Candela was launching 2 new product lines, growing from 50 employees to over 200 (and counting!), and adding150 vessels to the order book.During the first 4 years of my career I covered several positions in the consumer goods industry across Europe (mainly as part of Arla’s F15® trainee program) during which I acquired a wide toolbox of skills ranging from production and logistics to new product development, while receiving 300+ hrs of leadership training. I believe good work starts from good relationships and I find my daily dose of energy in working with people. My personal life mission is to leave the World as a better place than today, be it in terms of social or environmental progression.
