Content Marketing And Communications Lead (Growth)
The Insurance industry is ripe for disruption. Flip was created in 2021 to offer insurance that Australians love by daring to be different. Highlights of this role include:- Launching a limited time Japan Pass Accidental Injury Insurance product, which started as an idea on a sticky note and became a product within 8 weeks 🚀- Partnering with Ironman Oceania on 4 iconic Australian events, and offering our insurance to their race participants- Communicating a product and pricing update to bring our product from MVP state to a newly improved offering that better reflected our customers needs, and our business objectives (a tricky landscape to navigate with 2023's cost of living crisis). But more generally, in this role I:- Plan and execute product update communications alongside Product, Insurance Innovation and Engineering teams- Stay on top of web copy and designs for product launches and updates- Work with our agencies (Creative, Media, PR, Growth Consultancy, UX Design team) to spread the word about Flip- Producing content for partners like Noosa Enduro, Noosa Tri, City2Surf, Ultra-Trail Katoomba and Ultra-Trail Kosciusko, and Thredbo Alpine Resort- Maintain creativity in our heavily regulated industry
Content Designer
I wrote website content to enable the NRMA brand expansion into SA, WA and the NT. It required meticulous attention to detail, strong stakeholder relations and the ability to juggle business priorities. My day to day involved:- Writing, auditing and editing comprehensive short form copy- Following UX/UI practices and legal guidelines, to ensure a seamless website user experience- Writing the Travel, Strata and Landlord insurance 'quote and buy' experience- Ensuring our brand messaging is factually and tone consistent- Managing stakeholder feedback (with product, legal and other 2nd-party teams) which involves hosting feedback sessions and managing following steps- Working in an agile environment, meeting sprint deadlines and tracking the various stages of approvals and edits.
Communications And Business Support
After spending a few years in agency PR, I contracted to a wide range of industries—from Finance and Fashion, to Logistics and Construction. I used this time to grow my professional network and reassess the best use of my skills. Not only did I work with a bunch of incredibly smart people, I gained a greater sense of my strengths and passions to take into a full time perm role. This contracting period taught me how to adapt quickly, be resourceful and efficient, whilst making an impact and delivering results in a short timeframe.. and ultimately, how to find opportunities wherever I go.
