I am committed to helping students succeed, and highly invested in each student's individual story. I pride myself in my strong listening and communicate skills, as well as my empathy when serving others.I have served as a FAM Peer Mentor for three years before becoming the director for the program. As someone who has always been interested in serving others, this job has allowed me to cultivate skills that I hope to use in my future profession. Additionally, I continue to seek out opportunities where I am able to mentor and serve others. Recently, I served as a Camp Counselor for GEAR UP U, at Marshall University this summer. GEAR UP is a federally funded grant focused on increasing financial literacy among students, and encourages them to seek higher education, whether that be in the from active duty, technical schools, or the traditional university.In the future, I plan to pursue a doctorate in clinical psychology from Virginia Tech after I graduate from Marshall university with my master's in psychology. My career goal is to practice child psychology, in rural West Virginia.
