Therapy Extern
Current-Provide weekly individual in-person and virtual therapy to children and adolescents between the ages of 4 and 18 with ASD, ADHD, depression, anxiety, trauma, learning disabilities, sleeping disorders, chronic migraines, and other medical conditions in a hospital outpatient setting.-Provide in-person weekly and monthly family therapy to youth and their caregivers by facilitating conversations between the caregivers and their children to resolve familial and communication conflicts.- Provide weekly and monthly in-person and telephone parent training via psychoeducation and role play scenarios to enhance the caregivers’ understanding of their child’s behavioral challenges and how to modify maladaptive behavior in the home setting.- Facilitate bi-weekly in-person and virtual intakes to youth and their caregivers through inquiring of aversive childhood experiences, developmental history, medical history, family history, and current clinically presenting problems to create a diagnosis and collaborative therapy goals for treatment planning purposes.- Use behavioral strategies such as implementing reward systems, token boards, and increasing structure, communication, and visual supports to decrease problematic behaviors in children with ADHD.- Consult with caseworkers, social workers, and psychologists to enhance the contextual understanding of clients’ clinical presentations, to learn of intervention techniques applicable for clients, and to gain clinical information to be addressed in therapy sessions.- Conduct case management to provide therapeutic resources for clients to achieve their therapeutic goals. -Participate in monthly group consultation with psychologists and licensed professional counselors to discuss cases, provide therapeutic advice to professionals, and gain therapeutic knowledge to optimize clients' progression in therapy.-Participate in weekly didactic seminars and individual supervision with two supervisors.
