AeroDelft is a TU Delft student team with one mission: prove that emission-free aviation is possible by pioneering liquid hydrogen-powered electric aircraft. As a member, I collaborated with over 40 ambitious students from various Dutch universities, encompassing 17 nationalities. My role includes:• Redesigning the motor mount for a Sling 4 kit aircraft equipped with a bespoke liquid-hydrogen powertrain, generating 2D/3D part design, assembly designs & drawings with CATIA V6 & Solidworks for manufacturing.• Performing and evaluating Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis, including stress, modal, and fatigue simulation on the motor mount with Simcenter3D. Optimising performance and reliability while complying to EASA CS-23 requirements.• Developing a manufacturing plan in collaboration with Fokker Techniek to oversee the welding process of the motor mount. Enabling the completion of the motor mount production within a two-week timeframe.• Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation, including software troubleshooting guides, technical specifications and process flow to facilitate seamless knowledge transfer for future reference.
