Ultrabeam Limited was established in spring 2018 by Andy McLeay and Gabriel Walton who share over 45 years combined experience in coastal and offshore surveys.The company was formed to service the inshore survey market by providing high quality hydrographic and geophysical services to a wide range of clients from ports & harbours, utilities, offshore renewable energy, oil & gas and public sector industries.Ultrabeam provide an unparalleled level of accuracy and detail through use of specialist highly innovative survey tools and techniques. The Ultrabeam difference is in our data supported by our many years of shallow and deep water survey experience. We see our work as a distinct specialism and rather than overlapping from a core land survey company or being an appendage to a large offshore survey company Ultrabeam is entirely focussed on ultra high resolution marine asset survey and delivery of outstanding high quality data.We have developed our own unmanned surface vessel (USV) which has been designed to enhance slow speed and static data acquisition optimising data density and coverage by enabling complete control of transducer alignment during survey. The USV is a robust 3.2m x 1.7m dynamically positioned shallow draught asymmetric catamaran design named Ultra-2. With two operating modes Ultra-2 can be used for static data using dynamic positioning or can survey at speeds of up to 8 knots for wide area survey.
